What is the working principle of a hydraulic cylinder

Time : 2025-05-14

The working principle of a hydraulic cylinder is based on PASCAL's principle. It converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy by transmitting pressure through a liquid in a closed container. The following is its core working process:
Energy conversion: The electric motor drives the hydraulic pump, converting mechanical energy into hydraulic energy. After being regulated by the control valve, it is delivered to the hydraulic cylinder.
2. Pressure transmission: When hydraulic oil enters the hydraulic cylinder, according to PASCAL's principle, the liquid evenly transmits pressure to the piston, pushing the piston to move and converting hydraulic energy into mechanical energy.
3. Motion control: Adjust the flow and direction of the hydraulic oil through the control valve to control the speed and direction of the piston's movement. The double-acting hydraulic cylinder alternately feeds oil through two oil ports to achieve the reciprocating motion of the piston.
Through the above process, the hydraulic cylinder efficiently converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy, driving various mechanical devices to complete linear or swinging motion.
